A quick in and out!

Hey everyone...

I know I've been quite absent in blogland the past few weeks, and really, that's unlikely to improve very greatly over the next couple of weeks, but I just wanted to post a quickie to let you all know that I do really still think about you all so much and I miss you! Thank you to those of you who've been an active part of making me feel better, either via phone, email, text or chat! I really appreciate your input and kind words... Really!!

Love Jules xoxo

Innocent Humor

Key words/phrases from tonight while hanging out with my sister:

Accents
Armpits
Phlegm
Timeline
Bollocks
Colds
Flaming Arrow Crotch Death

Okay... I'm not gonna string them all together for you and tell you in what context they were used... but let me suffice it to say that we were COMPLETELY busting a GUT all night long, just totally cracking up! Cheers, Sister... thanks for the fun night!

Now... I DO find that I have to ask this very random question. Have you ever noticed how good your cold tastes? Seriously. Colds come with their very own flavor. They taste like... well... colds! When you sniff back that hangy ball of "gross" that's stuck in your throat, some of it passes over the tastebuds at the very back of your tongue. And when you cough when the cold is at that phlegm in your throat stage, it brings it up to the same spot. Identical flavors. The mucus in your body changes taste when you have a cold. And I'll be the very first person probably EVER in world's history to admit to finding that the flavor of my cold is appealing. I even miss it when it's gone.

YES, I AM CANADIAN AND I LIKE THE TASTE OF MY COLD!

So there. Another quirk. Still love me? Or are you just spazzing out now?

Hey! Glisten Up!

You guys are probbly bored of me bragging about winning the Amazing Race family pool, so I guess I'd better put something else up here for you to read!

I was shaving in the shower tonight and... ohhh... that might be too personal. Moving swiftly on... ;O)

Seems like this year I've been noticing the beauty of winter more. On the weekend, I was out and about driving in my car and I just couldn't get enough of the way the snow and moisture particles in the air (that hadn't quite dissipated from the morning's frost), absolutely blanketted the whole city with glorious sparkling diamonds. The sun bounced off each and every snowflake that lay on the ground, lighting it, setting it on icy fire... leaving it glistening magnificently for the world to see - IF the world chose to see it. Well, I for one, did. And I shared it with a few people that day... if not to make them see the day as I'd seen it through my own eyes, then at the very least to have them open their own to the world around them. If you can get past the extreme temperatures of winter... bundle yourself up, or just get your mind to a space where you don't notice the cold, it really is an astonshing, beautiful season!

Now... no wisecracks, those of you who are experiencing summer right now, I don't want you rubbing it in my face! LOL

I am SUCH a winner!!!

OH I AM SOOO GOOD!

My family all takes part in a family pool to see who can get the most points and win $5 from each member of the pool for the show The Amazing Race (my favorite TV show). Guess who won? I DID! AND I did it with my two original teams that I picked right off the top, too! SHIT I'm good!

So now, let's ponder what to do with my HUGE winnings... it's a whole $40 you know! ;OP

WOOHOOOOOOOOO!!

A night with a stranger

Oh friendly huge golden retreiver... thank you for cuddling with me, for playing with me, for resting your paw on my chest, for letting me pet you. Thank you for looking upon me with those huge puppy dog eyes and letting me look into your happy soul. Thank you for the moonlight walk through the blistering cold so my lungs could breathe the crisp air. Thank you for reminding me that there are moments in this life where nothing else matters, just the happiness that you are experiencing right now. I love you already, Dog. I hope we get to see eachother again sometime soon to frolick and play!

Red Light Winter

Went to see the play Red Light Winter tonight with Kim for her birthday. Lemme see... let's list the highlights or things of interest of the play, which was set half in Amsterdam and half in New York City...

1) The first 20 minutes of the play was done to the mixed aroma of a joint, cigarettes and TAG body spray... lots of each...

2) Within the first half hour of the play, the "hooker" bared her breasts.

3) Throughout the whole play, sexually vulgar language was strewn about like there was no tomorrow (right up my alley)!

4) The last 12 minutes of the first act was a fully nude sex scene (man with hooker) and yes... it showed ALL body parts and made me really thankful that I was wearing my jeans (see urban dictionary: seam riding).

Overall, it was a play that didn't move me nearly as much as Tuesdays With Morrie did, but it was entertaining (moreso in some parts than others) and it did have some deeply thoughtful parts to it. It touched on the topics of depression/suicide, promiscuous sex, drugs, AIDS, and probably above all else, love so deep that it consumes you (and I'm in NO WAY saying those things all go together, just that's what the play involved). It didn't change my life, but it wasn't a waste of time, by any means. I'd probably go back and watch it again just for the sex scene!

it's a twitchy subject

All day today, the right side of my nose was twitching. I thought this was information you couldn't live without in your lives. Seriously... it's almost as bad as that non-stop eye twitch we get from time to time. I've been told that's caused by being too tired. What do you think causes a nose twitch? And can anyone tell me how to rid myself of this annoyance?

My album cover

A meme from both Burf and Eb... actually, kind of fun! See what your own album cover looks like!

Here's how it goes. You are about to have your own band's CD cover. Follow these directions Go to......

1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4. Use your graphics program of choice to throw them together.

just some me-ness...

Some randoms for you:

Why is it that nature doesn't provide your city with gale force winds until the night before garbage day and you wake up to garbage strewn all over the place the next morning?

Does everyone else have a fascination with Adam's Apples or is that just me? Where did that term come from? I can imagine it might have something to do with Adam and Eve, but I'm too lazy to find out.

When in doubt, apply bright red nailpolish... unless you aren't looking for a permanent solution.

If you've lost something, think of the most ludicrous place you can imagine it would be, and then ignore that and go for the most obvious.

a song...

I've always liked this song, but lately I find it very inspirational and it gives me momentum to move forward when applied to my current situation here....
(excuse the fact that it's the Star Trek Enterprise theme song).

oh just blow it!

Is it just me or when you blow your nose first thing in the morning, does it really help to wake you up too? Is it because suddenly, after a long night of having a stuffy nose and therefore lack of oxygen, you can breathe so much better and the O2 immediately works its magic and wakes you up?

Cuz, I blew my nose this morning and it did that. It helped to wake me up. I think I might just make it part of my "very initial get out of bed in the morning routine".

finger owies...

I dunno what's the matter with my fingers, but in the past 3 days I've wrecked 2 of them! Not as badly as Dilly, mind you... But I totally cheese gratered one knuckle and caught another fingertip in a gate latch causing it to rip and bleed (but it was kindof worth the pain, because my son kept kissing it better all night). Both travesties (sp?) to my right hand. If I were a guy, I'd probably be really REALLY upset right about now, hey? ;O)

Okay, thank you for your concern, all of you... just want you to know that what I'm dealing with is strictly having to do with my immediate homefront... and it's gonna be a major change in mine and babe's lives, fairly soon. I can tell I'm stressed out about it all because I've gotten 2 pimples in the past week. That only happens when I'm super stressed. But with your prayers and support I'll make it through, and God willing, I'll get on with my new life in a refreshing, happy and ultra positive way!

absence...

Sorry everyone... might be absent for a little while. Just some personal shit goin' on at home. Can't really predict where it's going to go from here. I'll try to be around as much as I can, but I can't make any promises right now. Just know I love you all, and miss you terribly already! Try not to forget about me while I'm dealing with life, okay? I'll be back around given enough time... better than ever!

Love Jules

some tidbits

I'm already thinking about redoing my background design. It's a bit cartoony for my liking, but it's just how the thing evolved as I was creating it.

UPDATE: Okay, I guess I went ahead and changed it... what do you all think now? See screenshot of yesterday's to refresh your memory...

Today, I went to get some new ear phones for my mpio for while I'm exercising (since you all know how important it is to have music while I do that, I know you'll appreciate my errand). They're the kind that actually form and anchor around your ear, and they don't go directly into my ear canal like my ear buds do, so I'm hoping for a much more comfortable fit, and that I won't have to worry about them falling out when I run.

I don't think I mentioned that I went to see the movie P.S. I Love You with sis and Kim the other night. I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE WHOLE THING! The concept of the movie floored me, the main actor (Gerard Butler)... oh fuckin' yummmmm, the locations in which it was filmed, the expressions used, the writing, the music... SOOO awesome and I highly recommend it to everyone. Man and woman alike. I can't wait to see it again when it goes to the other theatre, hopefully by March. Yeah, I loved it enough to see it twice, or more, on the big screen. So there you go. Go see it!

S'pose that's it for now.... see you soon!

My New Look...

Okay, esteemed friends... what do you think of this new girly girl look? Now that I know what the heck I'm doing, I'll probably be tempted to change out backgrounds every once in a while. But since it took me a while to design and wrap my head around the code to change it tonight, I think I'll keep this look for at least a couple of months.

But, honest opinions, please!

P.S. Forgot to tell you it's meant for viewing in 1027 x 768 screen res...

HOORAY times 10 MILLION!

I just wanted to do a GREAT BIG shout out for GRUNTY today!!!

Yesterday marked his last treatment for his Lymphoma... and I couldn't be more proud of him for making it through it all!! I know, having seen the effect of chemo and all the rest that goes with it, that it was a very hard long haul for you, Grunty. The hardest of long hauls, actually.

I want you to know how much your strength and courage and passion for fighting this thing has helped inspire me to be a better person too. In all of the hardship you've been through with everything, it's opened my eyes a little bit more to what's going on around me and given me the strength to see the perspective of what I want my own future to be.

Grunty... when you're well enough... a trip to see eachother would be highly welcomed! We must strive to accomplish that as you're building the road to your new life!

Love Jules MWAH!

Welcome 2008

I got ID'd last night when I went to pick up the alcohol to bring to the New Year's Party!

I'm 31 years old and I got ID'd! The legal drinking age here is 18, but there's a sign that says people under 25 must show ID. So I asked her how old she thought I was and she said: "Oh!! Maybe 24??"

Do I really look that young? Whatever, it was really nice to hear. When you're 18 sand you get ID'd it's insulting and then as you age, the requirement of proof of age just becomes oh so flattering!

It was a great party... highlighted by talking to those I love at midnight, my sister talking about the cure for her gag reflex in relation to bj's, crazy dancing, bra talk and squishing boobs, and of course, me with my "let's remove the bottle cap from the cleavage with my tongue" trick. Ahhh... the joys of alcohol!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone!
